Today Soren had a Dr's appt, which Luke did so well at! Soren on the other hand did not.. my poor little baby! I will never be able to handle their shots! But after we got home Luke went right over to his shelf of toys, pulled out and dumped every bin all over the living room.. which I still need to pick up. I was feeding Soren so I watched him doing it.. after he was done I asked 'what did you do that for?' And I kid you not he looked at me and just shrugged his shoulders and walked away.......
I didn't think the 'I don't know' responses would kick in this soon.
But this chain of events led me to think of all of the different things they do right now, the cute and maddening, and how I need to write them down. So here we go!
(Soren doesn't really do anything to make me mad.. so that falls mainly on Luke!)
First here are their stats at the current time:
Luke:
D 19 months old
D 33 inches tall
D 27.5 lbs (as of two months ago)
D Wearing 2T clothes, and already shirts aren't really fitting
D Officially in Nursery and church!
D Average nap time: 1 hour.. :(
D Average time to finally fall asleep for naps: 1 Hour :(
D Sleeps from 7:00 to 7:00 typically.. so I can handle the short naps :)
D Eats... anything. But prefers string cheese, cheddar cheese, blueberries, bananas, mandarins, basically all fruit, chicken nuggets, and PB&J's
D LOVES trucks!
Soren:
D 2.5 months old
D 24.8 inches long
D 15.5 lbs.. big boy :)
D Wearing 3 month clothes.. some 3-6 month
D Sleeps most of the time at church
D Average nap time: hour to an hour and half.. all day
D Sleeps from 11:00 till about 6:00.. I feed him and he'll sleep til about 8:30!!
D Clearly he is thriving from momma's milk!
Here we go.. Cute, adorable, maddening, infuriating things my kids do:
:( Luke constantly dumps his toys out.. this is not a surprise but still maddening.
:) His favorite place to play is in the bathtub so cute.. until he throws the toys out of it and screams at me.. slightly maddening.
:) When Luke wakes up we get to hear his sweet voice yelling momma dadda.. it kind of melts my heart it's so adorable.
:) Luke loves being chased.. and makes the cutest little squeaking laughing sound as we chase him.
:( when we change Luke's number two's he loves grabbing himself.. infuriating he used to get distracted by giving him a wipe.. until he thought it would awesome to try and wipe himself.. now I give him a book and that keeps him occupied :)
:)Luke loves pacifiers.. he'll find as many as he can and walk around with all of them switching them periodically.. adorable
:( Luke loves pacifiers so much that he doesn't really love that Soren has one. Luke snatches Soren's out of his mouth any time he can reach it.. maddening. It gets infuriating when Luke decides to grab Soren's face along with the pacifier...
:) When Luke has something he knows we want he'll bring it just out of our reach, and as soon as we lunge he run off with this cute little maddening laugh.
:) Luke loves shutting doors.. whenever Kyle or I are getting dressed he'll shut us in the closet. Just yesterday he realized that Kyle's side is open to mine.. so now he'll shut my door, and I hear him laughing as he runs over to Kyle's side and plays peek-a-boo with me.. soooo adorable.
:) Luke loves books.. this is so adorable, but at times slightly maddening. The maddening part is that he has his favorite book and this is the one he brings us 90% of the time to read. It's kinda long.. we both probably have is memorized!
:) Lukes loves trucks, motorcycles, cars.. you name it.. and whenever he hears them he makes the brrrrmmmmm sound. adorable!
Almost everything Soren does is adorable but here are few of my favorites:
:) Soren will give the biggest smiles when we smile at him, heart meltingly adorable.
:) He loves kicking when he is in his swing.. so cute, but then he'll kick so much that his feet will hang off the end of it!
:( Both of my babies wear diapers, and they poop at the same time.. maddening.
:) Soren snorts when he's fussing before and after sleep, and makes noises in his sleep.. so adorable.
:( He has a lot of hair and he constantly has knots on the back of his head.. I've had to cut off about 8 knots so far.. 4 more I haven't done yet! slightly maddening.
:) Soren's double chin is always adorable.
:)Luke loves Soren, and he loves giving Soren lots and lots of kisses! so adorable, but then when you try to tell Luke to stop and he'll grab Soren's face. That infuriates me!
:) Luke is getting more gentle... he is even coming to terms with seeing that Soren has a pacifier. Luke will try to shove a pacifier into Soren's mouth when he's crying and we haven't picked him up yet. Cute, but also maddening when Luke can't get it in and he pushes harder!
There are probably more things that I'm missing, but I'd say this is a good list. Most of the time my kiddos are absolutely adorable, and I have to constantly stop myself from telling Kyle how cute they are. But the other day I had a really big 'they are not going to stay little forever' moment. I was mad a Luke for something and left him with Kyle. While I was showering it really hit me that one day my little babies aren't going to want to follow me around constantly. Luke will grow out of his super clingy always want to be held stage. One day they won't want to be with me all the time. And there will come a time when I won't hear 'momma dadda' every morning. Luke and Soren won't be so excited to see me.
So during this time when they are excited to see me I have to remind myself that this will one day end! Even when I get frustrated I know that one day..there will be different things to be frustrated over, and it won't be because Luke wants me to hold him when I'm trying to make dinner. So I need to really cherish these moments now.. even the maddening and infuriating things they do.
