Our new blog!!

So I have decided to start a blog.. I don't really know what I'm doing, but I'm sure I'll figure it out.

Kyle and I have been married for a year and a half now!  Crazy How fast time flies.  We have had so many wonderful experiences so far in our marriage.  We have been to England, and South Carolina to visit both of our missions, Colorado, Zions National Park, Nevada, California, Park City to snowboard, and we are planning on going to Hawaii next year!

We live in American Fork Utah, and love it!  It was a struggle when we first moved out here... we had no jobs and were bumming off of family members and friends for places to live.  We also had to plan our wedding from here, as we were not yet married! We were married for time and all eternity October 9th in the Reno NV temple, the best day of our lives! Our Heavenly Father has blessed us so much ever since then...  We found a wonderful place to live in Provo and I found a job at a daycare/preschool called A to Z Building Blocks, just a couple weeks after we moved here.  That was huge because Kyle was not able to find a job until January!  We struggled financially through our first couple months of marriage living off of our wedding gift cards, and my meager income!  I don't know how we made it through honestly, Kyle was also driving up to Salt Lake to go the BYU extension college.

One day our luck changed, Kyle found a job through a friend at a insulation company.  It wasn't the most desirable job, he was out knocking on doors, but it was a job.  Then the next day my boss ran out of the daycare and asked Kyle if he was still looking for a job.  He met his new boss right then, and started working for a company called Aire-Master a week later.  He worked 2 jobs for 4 month and then decided to let the insulation one go.

Since we were both working in American Fork, and living in Provo, we decided that it was kinda dumb for us to be commuting there for work everyday, so last June we packed up and moved to American Fork, into a basement apartment right across the street from Kyle's bosses Jared and Amy Peterson.  It was so nice to have a 4 min drive to work for me and 30 second drive to all of Kyle's supplies.

On our third day of church we spoke and after we gave our talks a man named Brad Myler came up to me and asked me if I would like a job at his law firm.  I was a little taken back, since earlier that week at work I was getting a little frustrated with things, and thought a change would be nice.  I agreed and two weeks later I started working at Myler Disability.

So that is what Kyle and I do for work right now.  Kyle is still working at Aire-Master, which is a professional deodorizing Company.  He goes into businesses and sales the deodorizer machines, not air fresheners, They are amazing. They also provide a floor and wall cleaning service that he worked for a while and now sticks to selling.  It was a amazing that my old boss Jody ran out that day because we have found what we are going to do for a living!  We are planning on opening our own franchise, and we are excited!

I am still working at the Law Firm as a manager in one of the departments called the DLC where we help people initially sign up for disability benefits.  It's a very rewarding job, it can be frustrating, but I like being able to help people.

So that is our life in a nutshell so far....

Here are some highlights of things we have done since being married:

  • We got to go to Colorado to spend New Years of 2010 with Rachel, Steve and those cute babies of theirs.
  • Went to England in May 2010 to visit my mission for 10 days.  We saw Stonehenge, a beautiful garden called Stourhead, where some of Pride and Prejudice was filmed, we went to the London Temple and saw Wicked in London!! We also saw so many wonderful members, and a lot of the people that I was privileged to met and baptized while I served in the London South Mission.
  • We went to Colorado again for the 4th of July.  This time it was with Kyle's family and went to Grand lake, and stayed in his Uncle Eric's amazing huge cabin.
  • Throughout the summer we went to Fallon and Auburn, and had a blast going to the lake and the rivers.  We also went camping quite a bit, and we fished!  My first time really fishing ever..
  • In August we went went to Fallon and Canned peaches.
  • I  went home for my grandpa Sorensen's funeral.. sad times but good to see all of my cousins!
  • We played in an ultimate frisbee league, which was intense!!
  • We've gone on a lot of sweet hikes!
  • We had our first year anniversary!!!!!!!!!!  We went to Park City, walked around, shopped and went down the alpine slide.
  • Going home for Christmas and Thanksgiving is always a highlight!
  • Our last great highlight is that we went to South Carolina May 6- 13th this year!  We went to Myrtle Beach, historic Charleston, the Columbia Temple, and ate some amazing BBQ!!!  We also got to visit some of Kyle's recent converts and the wonderful members in South Carolina.  The cool thing about when we went to each of our missions is that we were able to go back with our trainers, our first companions on out missions!
  • Cameron is graduating from high school!  My mom and dads last child!  Crazy!  My mom said that she is finally done sending kids to school after 25 years..
  • We have 1 niece and 1 nephew on Kyle's side.   And 4 nieces and 7 nephews on my side.. none on the way as of now.

As you can see we are incredibly blessed!
