Christmas/ New Years festivities

Christmas
This year for Christmas we were in Auburn and had a wonderful couple of fun filled days!  All of Kyle's sisters and families were able to come into town so that was awesome, but crazy!  We were there a couple of days before everyone came in.
The Sunday before Christmas we went the Congregational church where our sweet little niece Rowan, and Kyle's little sister Mackenna were angles in their nativity play!  They were soo cute!  After that Kyle and I went to church to feel the wonderful Christmas Spirit!

Here Rowan is with her dad.. we didn't get a good picture of Mackenna!

Christmas Eve was a fun filled packed day!  First we had a birthday party for our little nephew Bridger!  He's such a cutie! Well that morning Kyle went and played football with his 'boyfriend' Josh!

The Boyfriends

The party, but you can't really see Bridge!

Kovin and Lukers!

After the party we went on a hike, just up the road from Megan's house, where the party was.

Then after the hike we all went over to Grandma and Grandpa Sipherd's for Dinner and opening presents!  There were soooo many people, but it was fun!

That night we went to a  midnight candle light service back at the Congregational where a family friend danced in the program.  One busy day!

All of the babies were up pretty early so we had some present opening before everyone got to Sara's that morning.  I got my poptarts from Santa and Luke opened a few toys santa brought.

mmmm love this!

Kyle and I opened our presents to each other too!

New Years Eve
For New Years Eve we headed to Fallon to spend it with my family!  Billy, and Cameron were still home so it was fun!  We had a ton of food, and friends came over to help us eat!  We all played games, and watched football, and ate and ate!

The next day we all went sledding way up in the mountains!  It was cold, but holy cow it was soooo much fun!  The hill we found had this intense drop off at the end of it, and we all went flying over it.  Sooooo much fun!!  I have video but can't figure out how to get it on here...

Our BIG Christmas weekend!

We had a crazy weekend of Christmas festivities!  All of this was within 4 days, and we loved it!!

a  Christmas tree hunting

We decided to get a real tree this year even though we had no space for one.  So we got ourselves a four footer!!  Kyle is showing it off at the bottom of the page :)

I absolutely love this picture of Kyle helping Luke put a candy cane on the tree.
Luke was letting it go right when Kyle put his hand over the tree, I think he understood the concept.

Q Lights parade in Auburn Q

Over the weekend we went to Auburn to go and see the lights parade!  I’ve never been so I was excited to see it.  TONS of people go to this, and next year I want the Sorensen side to come and see it!

These are some crazy floats that were at burning man this last summer.. two of the coolest ones there! After the parade the family all went to Megan and Quincy's to have some yummy hot chocolate.
They live close to downtown so we walked to the parade.  It was a good night!

 X  Sorensen Christmas party  X
For the first time in a long time we had a party with my uncle Brian and Aunt Marty's family.   It was a crazy night especially when SANTA came!!  All of the kiddos went crazy, it was soooo cute!

Santa had each kid sit on his lap.. a total of 13.. and his elves gave them all a present.  The look on their faces when he walked in was priceless, I wish I had a picture.

Logan was the cutest of them all, he was in such awe of santa!

Ok maybe Luke was the cutest of them all.  He was a big fan of Santa!!

Mya and Ashley helping Luke open his present.

The whole group, except Ila who was sleeping for this one.

It was a whirlwind of a weekend but we loved every minute of it!!

W THANKSGIVING W

Luke's first Thanksgiving was a great one!  We got to spend it in Fallon with my family, the Fraker family, and the missionaries came over.  We had a full house!
Kyle got to go into town and play in a Turkey Bowl with some guys he played basketball with, while Luke and I participated in the 1st annual Sorensen 5k Thanksgiving run.  I of course did not run, Tristin  and I walked with our kids while most everyone else ran!  After the race was over, it was at Kim and Aaron's house, Tonya, Billy, Cameron and I had a little hand stand contest.

I think Cameron won

After this we all went and got ready for our Thanksgiving lunch.. mmmmmm!  Unfortunately I was not thinking about picture taking during the festivities.  I was busy eating and playing a sweet card game with Tonya and the missionaries.
Later that night we played games and played a little trick on Billy and Cameron... ohh soooo funny!!

This is a game that my dad played when he was younger at church activities.  you pick out two unsuspecting victims...Billy and Cameron.  You have people who already know what the prank is 'play' first.  You have a cookie sheet filled with water and a toothpick.  The object is to blow the the toothpick to the other persons side of the cookie sheet.  Simple right?  Well watch what happens:

The look of determination

Oh soooo funny!

And this is how we ended our Thanksgiving night.  I am Thankful for two amazing younger brothers!

Apple Saucing/ juicing

We love being with our family.  Just recently the Sorensen side made some apple juice and we canned apple sauce.  My mom and dad have two apple trees in their backyard and they were so full of apples that the branches were sagging to the ground.  My mom, dad, Tonya, my brothers and their families all picked those trees bare and we had boxes and coolers filled with apples!  Oh Then the juicing and canning games began.  It took 4 days to just juice and can all of those puppies, but the fruits of our labors were so worth it!!

We know we're beautiful

Finally got the good one!

The canning process, lots of work!

1. Sorting through EVERY apple 2. cleaning    3. dumping              4. pressing

Picking through every one of those apples was super annoying!!
The apple juice is soooooo delicious, it made the annoying parts worth it.  We got about 50 Gallon bags at least of apple juice!
